Kailash Kher is a singer, composer, lyricist and performer. His hit track ‘Allah Ke Bande’ catapulted him into the national spotlight in 2004. Since then, he has performed on over 400 Hindi film soundtracks, sung in over 20 languages and recorded more than 350 radio and television advertising jingles.
One of the most sought after composers in India today, Kher has created the scores for movies such as Chandni Chowk To China, Dasvidaniya, Sacred Evil, Sangini and others. He received much critical acclaim for the lyrics penned for Kaal, Chandni Chowk To China, Dasvidaniya and Traffic Signal.
Some of his awards include Filmfare Awards, a Stardust Award and an Indian Television Academy Award.
Kher formed his band Kailasa with Mumbai-based musician brothers Paresh Kamath and Naresh Kamath. The tracks are written, composed and sung by Kher and produced in-house by the band.
Combining Kher’s strong traditional folk sensibilities and lyrics invoking Sufi mysticism, Naresh and Paresh contribute modern rock, electronic and funk influences.
Kailasa has performed over 900 concerts in nine years across the globe, including in North America and the UK.
